Botox
The most common non-surgical procedure performed in the US is Botox Cosmetic. Dr. Theodore Lazzaro, as well as our Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner are highly recognized Pittsburgh Botox specialists with thorough understanding of facial anatomy, proper use of doses of Botox and the many years of experience using Botox Cosmetic to consistently deliver superior results for our Botox patients.

Wrinkles result from a combination of many factors. When you frown or concentrate, the muscles between your brows contract, causing your skin to furrow and fold. And when you squint, the muscles around your eyes contract and cause crow’s feet. FDA approved BOTOX® Cosmetic works beneath the skin’s surface and targets the underlying muscle activity that causes frown lines and crow’s feet to form over time.
Botox is very simple to perform for our certified injectors and usually takes only a few minutes. Using a very tiny needle, a small amount of Botox® Cosmetic is injected into the muscles that cause the wrinkles, temporarily reducing the activity of those muscles, smoothing out the skin. Since the needle used is so small, there is no discomfort and no anesthesia is needed. The final result is a reduction in the appearance of those lines. Results typically last 3-4 months.
Only your aesthetic practitioner can determine whether BOTOX Cosmetic is right for you. We are happy to see you for a BOTOX consultation at which time we will review your medical history, take photos and determine if Botox is a good option for you. Every patient is different and we specifically go over your physical exam and what realistic expectations are for you.
If we determine that BOTOX is a good choice for you the procedure involves a series of injections which take several minutes each. Botox starts to work usually within 24-48 hours and reaches peak effect closer to 14 days after treatment.
For many people, having to deal with those annoying sweat stains on their clothes, hoping no one notices them, is a daily occurrence. The embarrassment associated with excessive sweating can be profound. Whether the problem is underarm sweating or sweaty palms, the impact on day to day life can be significant. Many with excessive palmar sweating avoid shaking hands at all costs while others with excessive underarm sweat will try to wear special pads or garments, try multiple antiperspirants and/or topical medication to try to ‘stem the tide.
Now there is a safe, reliable and well-tolerated means of reducing sweat production that is quickly and easily administered that lasts for several months: Botox Cosmetic injection. Botox Cosmetic is not just for smoothing out wrinkles. It is now FDA-approved for the treatment of hyperhidrosis. The Spa at Aestique is currently treating patients with excessive underarm sweating with Botox Cosmetic. The treatment itself only takes 15 – 20 minutes and on average it lasts about six months.
Many of our patients come in for treatment on a regular basis, usually about twice a year, so that this frustrating problem is almost completely eliminated from their lives. Others come in prior to important social engagements, such as weddings and reunions and before important public appearances. Our patients who have undergone Botox Cosmetic for hyperhidrosis often state that the treatment is life changing.
Fillers
Juvederm, Voluma and Volbella
To regain a youthful or less tired look or to lend volume and to sculpt the lips, you may want to try one of the dermal fillers. The dermal fillers we use are temporary, yet long lasting, injectable gel implants. Our Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner are both extensively trained and experienced clinicians that perform these procedures. As we age our skin loses elasticity and moisture. This normal aging process, plus environmental factors like sun exposure, cause different facial lines to form, including moderate to severe lines and folds. Some areas that may be treated with fillers are: parentheses near the mouth, vertical lip lines, lip corner lines and marionette lines.

Also available to treatment is Volbella.
- It is a nonsurgical office injection procedure
- Contains modified hylaronic acid, derived from a naturally occurring sugar found in the human body
- Is gently injected by our PA/NP under the skin using a very fine needle
- A topical skin anesthetic is used prior to the injections
- It contains a common anesthetic as well called lidocaine to reduce discomfort
If you have been looking for a natural-looking filler to enhance the fullness of your lips and reduce lines around the mouth, Volbella is for you. The Spa at Aestique is excited to introduce Volbella in both our Greensburg and Shadyside spas. Volbella is the latest FDA-approved injectable added to the Juvéderm family of dermal fillers and can be used alone or in conjunction with Juvederm Ultra XC. This non-surgical lip augmentation treatment is designed to plump the lips and minimize the appearance of fine lines around the mouth, also known as perioral rhytids or perioral lines- lines that previously were difficult to treat. What makes this filler unique is its patented Vycross technology which, through more efficient crosslinking, produces greater lift capacity and longer lasting results. In fact, a company-led study found that over 90% of test patients reported natural looking lips with more than 80% of them still satisfied with their results after one year.
This temporary filler is made of Hyaluronic Acid and does not require a skin test before your injections. The smaller Hylauronic Acid particle size in Volbella allows your clinician to treat fine lines without getting a full look in these delicate areas.
Volbella is the perfect product to choose for small fine lines and subtle enhancement of the lips. The smaller particle size allows for the correction of these fine areas without the worry that your lips will get bulky or too puffy.
*Elective cosmetic procedure results vary. Outcomes are unique to each individual and providers offer no guarantees regarding results.
Kybella
Aestique® is always looking for the newest proven cosmetic treatments to offer our patients. We are excited to announce that we are now offering, FDA approved Kybella treatments to help with under chin fat. This non-surgical treatment contours and improves the appearance of submental (under the chin) fullness. With this procedure, we can eliminate that double chin with nothing more than a few injections at reduced cost of its surgical counterpart.

Whether that double chin was caused by weight gain, aging or genetics, this area has proven to be resistant to diet and exercise. Kybella works by injecting the fat underneath your chin. The active ingredient, deoxycholoric acid, is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath your chin, Kybella causes the destruction of those fat cells. Those cells can no longer store or accumulate fat – they are permanently removed.
Kybella is performed in-office and typically takes 15-30 minutes. Multiple injections are performed during each session. The number of sessions can vary depending upon your individual circumstances but most often 3-6 sessions are recommended, spaced at least one month apart. Following your treatments you may notice some temporary bruising, slight swelling or redness at the injection sites which should subside within a few hours. Post treatment restrictions are similar to that of dermal fillers. You can return to normal activities immediately but you will want to avoid strenuous exercise for the next few days. Any discomfort from the injection can be alleviated with an ice pack and/or Tylenol. You will begin to see a change after only a few visits. You will notice a more taut, thinner, youthful appearance. Once you have reached your desired aesthetic outcome, re-treatment is not expected.
- FDA-approved
- Minimally invasive
- No downtime
- Reduced fat underneath the chin
- Youthful, thinner look
- No surgery
- No anesthesia

Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a technique for removing the topmost layer of skin, leaving it supple and vibrant. TheDiamondTome™ Wand removes the damaged layer of skin by gently exfoliating the skin with natural diamond chips, while at the same time vacuuming the dead skin cells away in a sterile and controlled manner. Removing this outer layer of dead skin cells leaves a smoother texture and promotes the growth of healthy new skin cells. Microdermabrasion is a wonderful alternative to laser skin resurfacing or chemical peels because it is non-invasive, non-surgical, and requires no down time after treatment. Your skin will have a radiant glow, free of irritation and loose particles.
Microdermabrasion can help to treat a variety of conditions, including sun-damaged skin on the face, neck, or shoulders; age spots on the hands or face; minor to moderate fine lines around the eyes or on the forehead; acne scars; blackheads and whiteheads; hyperpigmentation; and oily skin.
Face/Neck $112 | Décolleté $32 | Back $62
Dermaplaning
The treatment consists of scraping the face to remove dead skin cells and “peach fuzz”, which acts as an exfoliate for dead skin cells that traps dirt and oils. It immediately brightens the face, reduces the appearance of acne scars, diminishes the look of fine lines and promotes smoother skin allowing products and cosmetics to penetrate at a deeper level. If you have pores or skin that’s prone to acne or breakouts, or you feel extra exfoliation is in order, top off with an application of a stimulation peel to refine your new baby-smooth skin even more.
Dermaplaning $95 | With Glycolic Peel $127
Microneedling therapy with PRP is “Hollywood’s Hottest Secret”, and Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a pen shaped device containing 12 very fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. With the addition of PRP, Platelet-Rich-Plasma, you can really take the treatment to the next level. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin, while PRP represents a way to enhance the healing of your skin cells while increasing the growth factors of your skin. The two therapies workin synergy to create a treatment that brings better results than each part could alone.

The SPA at Aestique welcomes you to discover the freedom of naturally looking permanent cosmetic makeup and microblading. Just think, no more reapplying makeup after swimming, jogging, exercising or enjoying your favorite activity. Permanent makeup/Microblading is waterproof, smudge proof and smear proof! Permanent makeup and Microblading are quickly increasing trend in the United States and around the world.
As the name implies, the goal of permanent makeup is to permanently apply makeup to the face so you never have to struggle with eyeliner or an eyebrow pencil again. Our certified medical esthetician can meticulously tattoo makeup onto the face to create permanent colors on the eyes upper and lower eyeliner and/or eyebrows.

Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup treatment for natural looking brows. You can say goodbye to penciling, dusting and drawing in your brows and say hello to waking up with perfectly shaped brows.
Brows are toted as one of the most important facial features. With microblading, brows can be created, enhanced or defined. It can also fill in gaps or add volume to brows that have been over tweezed or thinning due to age. It is a type of artistry where pigment is implanted under your skin with a manual handheld tool. Fine hair-like strokes are drawn to mimic natural hair. The process creates a 3 dimensional appearance giving shape and definition. The results can last years, but touchups may be necessary depending on your skin type.
Why Should I Choose Permanent Makeup and/or Microblading at the Spa at Aestique?
There are many reasons patients choose permanent makeup and Microblading over traditional make up, including:
- Convenience – less time needed to get ready
- For those who have difficulty applying makeup
- For those who have allergies to cosmetics
- Those suffering with hair loss due to aging or such unique conditions as alopecia or chemotherapy.
Consultation and the Drawing of the Desired Makeup Outline At Your Permanent Makeup/Microblading Procedure
The initial procedure appointment is long due to many important steps. You will fill out forms including a medical history that will be thoroughly reviewed. Pigment colors will be selected with your approval, and then the appropriate topical anesthetics will be applied to numb the areas to be tattooed. A final makeup design will be created with your approval as the template for the medical esthetician to follow during your procedure. After all of the prep work is completed, the tattooing process begins which may take an hour or more. Before and after photos will also be taken.
In order to connect with the client and understand their objectives, our medical esthetician asks the client to arrive at their consultation with their makeup applied. This representation using traditional makeup is an essential aspect of the process. Once the client is satisfied with the temporary design of the eyebrows or the eyes, and has approved it, the permanent application process can begin.
Preparing for Your Procedure Appointment
You will be given preparatory guidelines when you schedule your procedure appointment. Specific steps will be advised such as postponing some skin treatments, taking a prophylactic medication, or discontinuing certain medications, vitamins, or herbal supplements. When scheduling your appointment date, you should keep social and/or work plans in mind. Although there is no real “down time” during the first few days of healing, your tattooed features will be darker and shiny (from applying ointments) and you will be unable to wear some conventional makeup (e.g., mascara). The length of a procedure varies by type (eyebrows or eyeliner). However, you should allow at least 2-3 hours for your initial appointment.

What Can I Expect After my Permanent Makeup and/or Microblading
Throughout the recovery process, the client is directed to apply an ointment to the area twice a day for five days. This is most important to ensure adhesion of the applied pigmentation in the treated areas.
Clients will experience minimal discomfort following an application of permanent makeup. Additionally, many patients are concerned their makeup looks too dark – this is normal. Within the next two weeks, you will see the true results of the permanent makeup/microblading, which should match your expectations. Feel free to contact us for touch up makeup if needed.
How Much Does Permanent Makeup/Microblading Cost?
The cost for microblading and permanent makeup is very reasonable. Specific pricing for your treatment is based on the area to be treated and will be discussed at the time of your consultation but approximated costs are:
Microblading $527 (2 1/2 hours)
1st Touch Up included if done between 4-6 weeks after initial treatment
$152 Additional Touch Up (limit 1, within the first year only)
Upper lid eyeliner $377-452
Lower lid eyeliner $252-352
Upper and lower lid eyeliner $702
